In an excellent spot right now. Light yellow color, fresh and elegant nose. Nice bouquet of white fruits, white peach, vanilla, caramel and salt. Complex and fresh finish with well integrated acidity, long. Will hold many more years but why wait?

One of the few Niepoort I had left to taste and it is not the worst. Supposedly from centuries-old vines of Rabigato and others. On the nose, that delicious smell (mellow notes of white fruit) triumphs over the complexity. As it is a standard in this house, palate has a lot of wood hiding the rest of the elements, plus a lot of concentration and an unrepentant search for length without depth.

Seemed nice, but a bit mute on day 1, however, this really expanded on day 2. It became richer and more "white Burgundy" like on day 2; voluminous but still crisp and clean, without heavy oak notes. Clean, balanced and long. Seems like it has the legs for aging.

Perhaps this is still experiencing bottle shock. It showed nice enough, with a crisp, apple and citrus profile... but it just didn't pop on the palate. Judgement deferred.
