13.5% alcohol; bottled by Soc. Coop. Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano Soc. Agr.; Votto Vines Importing, Hamden, Connecticut; medium-weight foil, real cork with maximum wine penetration of 1 mm, cork aroma of sweet/sour cherry and deep heartwood sawn through; nose of fresh strawberries, cherries & grapes; opened, vinturied, and tasted about 20 minutes later at 11 degrees C; medium bodied, strong cherry flavor, moderate tannins, tilted toward sourness and away from sweetness or fruitiness, nestled in a bed of minerals and forest floor; tannins, such as they are, persist into the medium finish, acting almost like an anesthetic on the back of the tongue -- definitely not a New World wine; pair with pasta, pizza, and a variety of other Italian dishes; ps. the two and three day report is very favorable -- the wine holds its own, the finish has improved; I'm adding two points to my original 84.

Drank over two nights. It was good both nights but smoothed out more on night 2 after it got more air. Black cherry, firm but smooth tannins, and medium body. Went great with sausage and peppers on night one and tomato meat sauce on night two. Good QPR for about $15.

Presents with bright cherry and a touch of funk on the nose (very faint Brett). Medium weight on the palate with a very soft texture. Nice finish. Decent QPR.
