ou can't go wrong with Catena wines. For me, one of the best entry-level Malbecs in Argentina. Explosion of Plums, black pepper, cherry and toasted. Full bodied, round tannins and log finished with a lovely tofee, coffee taste in the end.

Maybe at its best after ≈48 hours in refrigerator once opened. Everything integrated; darker fruit aromatics, judicious oak (12 months, some new), requisite acidity. Exceptional value.

Tonnes of vanilla on the nose. Spicy and warming yet fairly smooth with hints of plum and toffee apple. Tasty and nice easy drinking but still plenty going on flavour wise. Had it with Cumberland sausages and it held up well. Very happy with it for £12 from the supermarket. Could well develop over a few more years - going to tuck a couple away.
