Supposed to be a vin de paille so I expected something complex and sweet. This is neither. The nose is bland and slightly plastic. On the palate it’s hot, dry, tannic and uninteresting. None of us liked it. Total waste of money at any price. The sink drank it.

One of the strangest bottles I've ever had. Cranberry sauce and rosewater tempered with flavors like aged balsamic? Dense without being overly heavy? Like the tastes, my feelings are also paradoxical, finding it somewhat off-putting and intriguing. Now that I'm prepared, I'd try it again with cheese or dessert!

2012, 2013 and 2014 select clusters that are from own-rooted vines, made soldera style and appassimento, then fermented whole cluster and macerated post-fermentation for 40 days. (note from Jim Cowan).
