  • On the nose, orange, apricot, peach and spice. On the palate, medium-bodied, with lots of orange marmalade, apricot and peaches, reasonable acidity, and a medium/long finish with some spice.

Tasted May 18, 1007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Amber color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of dried apricots, peaches and soft brown spices that carry right through to the palate. Light to medium acidity, light to medium body. Not cloying at all. Drink or hold.

  • Don't have the much experience with Alsace or the grape but here goes. Very dark color (is this normal?) Half-way between gold and amber. In the nose, nice and big with botrytis, creme brulee and a hint of maple syrup. On the palate though, this wine is very tight and never seems to fill out. It has a long finish but it's not a particularly tasty one and is a little bitter. Maybe I just caught this wine at an awkward time or maybe it sat on the shelf for too long before I picked it up on close out. Nonetheless the nose is terrific and the wine certainly has its merits.
