Jura study (Chicago, IL): Odd volatile nose. Kind of simple with some angular red fruit, and not much else on the palate save the acidity and tannin. Feels a little empty at this point; probably far more interesting a few years ago. Best to drink sooner than later.

Visual: ruby red, clean, no sediments in bottle. Nose: dust, smoke, leather, forest floor, dark fruits (raspberry, blackcurrant), spices. Palate: prominent red fruits with spices, well integrated tannins, medium acidity, long finish. Conclusion: really opened after 1 hour of decanting, wine gets heavier with time, well balanced and long finish. Probably around its peak though.
