Unfiltered wine, giving a slight haze to the bright purple colour after decanting off a fine sediment. Red berry aromas and more of the same on the palate, medium-bodied, some carbonic maceration notes of red cherry and a hint of thyme leading into a fresh crunchy berry fruit finish.

Colour: translucent cherry red, slightly cloudy, quite light Nose: fleshy strawberry, macerated in balsamic vinegar. Redcurrant. Raspberry. Tamarillo jam. Rhubarb? Raspberry cordial? Sweet spice. Stemmy, savoury, some carbonic maceration character. Fresh, young. Palate: raspberry, strawberry, red cherry. Redcurrant! Tamarillo jam? Fresh, lithe, red berry fruit. Stemmy, savoury, whole bunch/carbonic maceration character. Cranberry. Raspberry cordial. Fresh berry like acidity; fine grained, sandpapery tannins, drying. Medium bodied, 13% alcohol. Quite light bodied for a Barossa red, but I don’t see that as a fault; it’s very fresh and drinkable, really nice. Fruity, spritzy, young. Seal: screwcap. Very old Barossa Valley Grenache (78%),and Cinsault (22%), 40% whole bunches in the ferment.

Not as good as Cirillo Grenache. This is a bit light on for Rhine red. Should of just done a 100% Grenache. Won’t buy again, so all those cellaring don’t - just drink it & move on.
