Tasted alongside 2012 Pillar Rock, Stags Leap. This Gemstone took a long time to open. At 4 hours, the Pinnacle Rock was wide open and putting on a show while the Gemstone was still shy and closed down. On the second night, it started to open and the fruit really came forward. There is rich concentrated blackberry and currant complemented with oak, earth, mint and some tar/creosote. This needs time to come together and it will be 2 or 3 points higher when it does.
