After the '14, coming up a bit short. Does not cohere. It's very good, don't mistake me, but not synthesized and velvety as the '14 was drinking at its peak.

Opened to breathe for an hour. Restrained earthy nose, on the palate we have a light to medium bodied red fruit, mineral, more earthiness, and acid and pepper in the finish. Great QPR! I tried this at the same time as the '18 field blend old vines, and I slightly preferred the greater intensity, extraction, and viscosity of the field blend to this old vines mourvedre blend. Overall, this '16 is a good value for every day use, tonight with take out chinese dinner.

Pnp; has a medium+ ruby in colour. Nose of black cherries, cocoa, with a hint of violets. On the palate, there are pruny tobacco leaf, dark plums, and dark green herbs; has a bit of a port-like flavour profile to it as well. Medium bodied with a medium finish.
