Very tight and aggressive with the first little taste, so I decanted. Definitely the right move. Medium deep purple, clean and vibrant. Hints of floral wood, tar, dark fruits, roasted meat. Nice and perfumey, really pleasant nose. Palate brings a little of that evergreen/herby wood, perhaps an oregano note that is as well as plenty of dark fruits and a bit of game meat. Nice, juicy and well rounded acidity, medium+ tannin with some fine calendula pepperiness. Really like this wine, well structured and balanced and a good expression of Syrah. My impression is that while good now and perhaps entering its prime window, this can certainly be held for several more years.

It’s going well but still too young. I had a 2009 in 2019 and it had aged beautifully. I follow this winery and buy Pangea whenever I can. I would Revisit this one in a couple years. It’s good now but not great. There is a lot of life left in it to. Almost feels more like a napa cab right now. I’m not getting the Syrah characters yet.

Tasted at the Whitewater Valley Wine Society, Hampshire, UK. 20 months in French oak barrels [50% new] followed by a further 18 months in bottle before release. This bold wine had complex aromas of blueberry and black pepper with mineral notes. I thought too young at the moment, it probably needs 5-8 years to be at its peak.

Profile moderne et assez extrait, assez boisé encore et un brin confituré. Souple et corsé, des mures et du tabac avec de l`eucalyptus et des tanins serrés. Finale longue et asséchante. Bien fait pour ce style.
