Ornery upon opening but cleans up with 45 minutes in the decanter. Dried cherry, dried florals and asphalt nose is classically aged Piedmont. Fruit is showing its age with nice complexity and there is still suave balancing tannin. Should hold though the base Barbaresco is on the back nine at this stage.

Popped and poured at the zachys auction. great, great performance. medium ruby with browning at the edge. nose of gorgeous tar, cinnamon, earth and dark fruits. in the mouth bright acidity accompanies the predominately cinnamon and dark fruit flavors. fully a point but lots of life ahead yet. wish i owned more.

Wines on Thursday (Bellavitae): Translucent ruby color, more delicate and pliant than any of the Barolos tonight, maybe even hewing to a purer expression of the varietal flavor, but not much in the tertiary department other than its resolved texture.

Acker 2019/03 (Marea): Good broadness and underpinned spice, but slightly tired already. 92
