A very solid bottle of wine, varietaly correct. Nice dark fruit, a bit of oak, tannins, and acidity. This wine does nothing wrong, it just doesn't excel. It's like that kid in school who gets B's and you know he'll have a decent job when he grows up, but won't be the President. Although our current President...... ($9)

Popped and poured, w/the aid of a glass airator. Nose of cedar, vanilla along w/cedar box. Chewy and full bodied, a text book Sonoma cab. This wine reminds me of the jv player...who has been slighted, and says I should be starting on the varsity squad...and then goes out and prooves his worth. Not only, that, but kicks major ass along the way. This is an excellent, classic Sonoma cab, and makes me think, there was some "xtra killer juice", left over & it was bottled in the 2nd tier, or Grand Archer label. Really good wine & with seven years of age under its belt, mature, refined and elegant. This is a terrific QPR, and stunning value. Tastes like a wine costing 3x more, and maybe then some. Value of the year, so far for wines tasted in '09.

Got that old Cali Cab here, cigar box, baseball glove leather. Full of dark chocolate covered cherries, rich and flavorful. All grown up.
