Another in a string of unrelated wines that is a bit of a fence sitter and head scratcher. I think this remains similar in undecided profile as my other bottle consumed 3 1/2 years ago. There's something of a kirsch and ripe fruit thing and then a very bright and candied side. Not zesty and zippy, but instead more sweetish in the nose. It dips a bit in the middle. At one point I got an intriguing stony, rusty quality of mineral. I went from unconvinced to truly enjoying this a few times over a few nights. I'm not sure where this goes.
15.0% abv, no heat and I'd have guess closer to 14%.

Pale garnet color with enticing black cherry red licorice, white pepper, Chinese five spice, and leather aromas. N the palate it’s medium bodied and very fresh with chalky tannins. It shows black cherry, black raspberry, spice and a hint of leather flavors that ad a very appealing bit of savoriness to this wine. Long spice finish.

After dinner wine. Clearly benefitted from wait. Color still light but fruitiness is gone and we have some more body. Good clean medium weight finish. I like this wine very much - well made. Too bad i had a reason to cancel my membership.

Medium in color and weight, loaded with beautiful red fruits and dusty tannins, this Grenache is an easy substitute for Burgundy or Pinot Noir with just about any meal. Tasty and versatile, this is an absolutely wonderful rendition... A bit hard to get, but worth the effort, showcasing why Tablas Creek is at the top of its game these days in Paso Robles.

Very nice. Clean, bright - in color and nose, red fruits. Very pure expression. A bit linear, very fruit focused, not a lot of breadth, little spice and not a lot of depth. Perhaps this ages into something that develops complexity over time, but it seems built for youth. Not really what I think of for a Grenache in the SoRo style and also not as zingy, high-toned and spicy as some renditions I've had. This was down the middle to me, but unmistakably of high quality. Hard to believe the 15.0% label abv; I would think that more density and ripeness would be required to envelope that, but there was no heat here. The only thing that called my attention to the abv was finishing the second glass and deciding to look at the label!
