Nose of rich red fruits, maybe a bit stewed but not particularly unpleasant. On the palate the red fruit is quite present but rather enjoyable. There’s a full mouthfeel and and long ranging finish that has a good balance of acidity. peppery notes towards the end as well. A solid pairing that will hold up to richer tomato based foods. This wine has some heft at 14.5% and is definitely in the new world style. Less elegant than some other SRH pinots but then again at under $20 its a heck of a lot more bang-for-your-buck and QPR than most SRH Pinots hands down. I’ll buy more, that’s for sure.
