  A deep golden hue, advanced of course but mercifully not oxidized at all. At first I noted a prominent acid streak, to my great surprise. While that dissipated, the wine's tertiary notes were stunning, and gained complexity with time: toasty caramel, buttered popcorn, some muted baked apple notes, too. A wonderful showing.
