Amazingly sweet, but not as cloying as it is upon opening.
Lots of strawberries and pairs well with certain desserts.

I really think this is a polarizing wine. It showed really well tonight with a very dense, (flourless) semisweet chocalate cake served w/ strawberries. I think the key to presenting this wine is pairing it with items that don't also bring sweetness. Syrupy sweet, not a hint of alcohol. Strawberries, golden raisins.

Bought in bulk due to the name of our GodDaughter Sydney. Had heard good things about this dessert wine, but nothing overly specific. This is quite unusual! Bizarre really. First experience with the wine -- or a Zinfandel IceWine for that matter. Color is pinkish/orange. Strong nose of Strawberry Jello -- some pepper jam/chutney lingering in the background. Thick and Syrupy sweet, with candied strawberries and golden raisins with no hint of alcohol whatsoever (9% on label) and missing some acidity. Depsite all of this it never hits heavy, and stays relatively nimble with a bright finish. I'm not sure how to pair -- pancakes? Definitely Paired incorrectly with artisinal chocolates. Too much competing sweetness - maybe if they were semisweet?. Pair next time with Blue Cheese as the label suggests and see how it shows. May just need to consume on its own as dessert. Hard to score - I imagine this will be a polarizing wine- but I'll give it an 84 for the enjoyment it gave on its own later in the evening. Saved a little to see what happens with some air.
