Dark colored Chianti; 100% Sangiovese that saw significant new oak treatment. Typicity is very clear from the first pour. Beautifully herbs, dark cherry and licorice with some mocha from the new oak. New oak not fully integrated although with air it receded into the background. Think this is going to be fantastic (+2 points) once the oak fully integrates. Received low scores for AG. Don’t fully agree with the scoring because this is drinking wonderfully currently and it is very very far from hitting its peak; probably atleast 10-15 years.

Decanted for an hour, intense colour, showing first signs of maturation- looking brilliant in the glass. Tobacco and sour cherry dominated nose and mouth feel, quite weighty on the palate, but was expected from that particular chianti area. Rich and savoury, promising, modern approach.

Chianti Classico tour 2019 - 2 -Conca D'Oro in Panzano + B a C: 100% sangiovese, from a single plot, very low yields - 20/25 hl /ha. Bursting with fragrance and ripe fruit plus balsamic undertones that just make it a level above the riserva. More pure fruit and focus as well. Certain richness from the french barriques as well.
