Satellite of Soif (Chicago, IL): Quite interesting -- there's a really clear note of watermelon on the nose. The palate is juicy and sweet, and to my palate, just a touch candied as well. I preferred the "regular" valdiguie.

I've been spoiled by a string of incredible Valdigue wines from Cruse Wine Co. I thought this was begging for some tart, acidic, stemmy elements. It's not on the same level of other Broc wines in this price range ($32).
Flat with creamy dill, grocery strawberries and unsweet watermelon candy.

Oh boy, I thought the Vine Starr was seeking fruit. I literally can’t taste any fruit here, I get a whiff of Strawberries on the nose, but the palate is liquid acid and can it be tannin? Or is my tongue scorched. I see no value here (unlike vine starr) as this is flawed imo. Have had Cruse pet-nat valdiguie several times and that wine is wonderful. I thought I was becoming an acid freak too...hmmm
