Nose: Partly oxidised yellow apples (lots of them), then musk, yeast and smoke (in order of appearance). Taste: Dry but with a rich and mature, almost sweet, yellow apple fruit, but still fresh with a lot of balancing acidity. Rather full bodied with a long, minerally aftertaste. Medium to low mousse. Juicy and savoury. Could have wished for a bit more complexity, though. A lovely 1996 Grand Cru! Mature and young at the same time (drink 2006-2020). A great food wine with rich dishes based on white meats or fish.

Vin-forum offline tasting (Norway, Trondheim): Musk, unripe apple and yeast. Good and complex taste with very nice acidic structure. Perhaps a somewhat metallic finish. The finish is very long with apple flavors. Very pure, but too much yeast. Still very young

Very much on the pineapple end of the spectrum. Not bad, but not inspiring either.
