  • Needed a full day to settle In and open up. Even then it seem to be somewhat bitter. Won’t get this one again although I did list it as neutral because it worked well with an overdone pork chop

  • Needs a long time to breath to allow it to smooth and balance itself out. Classic cap sauv.

  • Really berry, dry and sweet easy to drink.

  • And finishing this tasting of Cabernet from Napa Valley postponed by the quarantine ... tasting interruptus. At first one seems to be smelling a Swiss or Austrian cassis liqueur mainly due to the strong presence of notes of ripe black berries along with all the oak from the Great Lakes plantations. In the mouth it is more diluted, presenting a medium-bodied structure and a decent acidity. Even with everything, these wines saturate me right away and it is not the best way to start this final flight of californians cabs.

  • Pleasantly surprised by this inexpensive Cabernet Sauvignon. Plum, fig, and a hint of coffee on the nose. Full bodied with a tinge of sweetness due to a bit higher residual sugar. However this fits well with the plum and cherry on the palate. Paired well with quarantine & homemade French onion soup! [3/22/20] ($10)
