  This wine exceeded expectations. It needs a lot of time to open up so at first was quite tight, but slowly and surely it came into its own. Carignane is a great great for the region but not grown very much - we appreciate Mayo’s handling of the grape and their commitment to trying to get the full expression from the varietal. It likely will be better over time.
