Fresh leather & Earth with Dark Cherry & Blackberry. Well balanced with firm acidity and ripe tannins. Smooth dry finish with smoky black pepper and ripe cherry. Benefitted from time to open up. A southern Rhone gem that you can afford.

A deep ruby blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, the 2017 version of Guy Mousset's Côtes du Rhône Villages Les Garrigues offers aromas and flavors of dark bramble fruits, licorice, scorched earth and clove. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, lightly oaked, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and with substantial rustic tannins, it stays solid on the mid-palate and closes with an astringent, medium-length finish. Give this another year in the cellar so that the tannins can better integrate. It may merit a higher score in the future. Drink 2021-2024.

Fresh fruit with a bit bit of spice thrown in. Deep ruby color. Medium finish. A very simple, straightforward wine. It was nice to drink and have no complaints, but there are better for the same $ if not cheaper.

Seems like Brett showed up to the party, brought a ton of barnyard friends into the house and now they won't leave... too much funk for me. Hope this plays out. Bad bottle?

Red and not that interesting. Maybe needs more time in bottle.
