2017 reds with Jasper Morris MW (67 Pall Mall TV): An up-and-coming producer that is no longer selling as many of its grapes to the negoces. Goulots is right at the north of Gevrey and high on the slope. A good proportion of whole bunch used in this wine.
Quite an interesting nose - almost a smell of wet metal, with some dark fruit and pretty florals coming through, then fenugreek - great stuff. Very spicy and vivacious on the palate, full of flavour, just a hint of sauvage, chewy and exciting. Persistent and full of flavour, without weight - typical of 2017? Excellent wine.
