Académie des Cinquante Baden Visit; 9/11/2019-9/13/2019: Very limited production, circa 2000 bottles, aged in barrique, around 20% new. Beautifully made, so clean and pure and linear, lots of volcanic energy and satiny fruit supported by warmth from the wood, still quite closed, tight on the finish. Needs time, try around 2022.

The whites are clean, very mineral with Citrus and Stone fruit flavours. The Grand Cru's are a little softer with a yeasty, creamy character from the maturation with the lees. Grauburgunder's are a little bit greener with nice vegetal and sour character. The reds of the domaine are pretty lean and light with almost rose colour but they lack in concentration and intensity.

Académie des Cinquante Baden Tasting (Restaurant De Scheepskameel, Amsterdam, NL): Good concentration of fruit paired with elegance, mineral and refined, tightly wound, lovely freshness and charm.
