quite a lot of liquorice notes on the nose. savoury palate with good acidity and firm tannins. good without being stellar, I dread to think what current vintages cost. I doubt I could afford them now...

Nice, mildly sweet nose. Mineral on the palate with quite a serious, long finish. I guessed a top tier producer. Very balanced and refined. Many placed this as their TOP 3 wines of the day and based on votes is the WOTD.

Quite a strong red colour still, despite being eight years old.
Aromas of violets, red and dark cherry, red fruits and earth. Flavours of red fruits, some blackberry, earth and spice. A bit angular and short, but a good villages wine. Could have even done with a few more years in the cellar.
