  My last bottle of this exceptionally well-priced wine. Still consistent, with roasted meats and smoke, blackberry compote, cassis, and allspice. Plenty of tannins remain (this could last at least three more years) and nicely balanced acidity. Easily worth twice the price.

  This really is a remarkable wine for the price. I suppose this is a relatively low-production bottling at under 300 cases, nevertheless, I'm always surprised that this one isn't more widely held and consumed. This bottle was pretty much consistent with previous notes. Outstanding.

  While I'm not as excited this time about it (it's missing that bacon component that I enjoyed so much in the bottle last October), this is still an outstanding bottle, with balanced black fruit and a little cassis, and, consistent with that previous bottle, it's got some nice roasted herb and a creamy palate. Like it aplenty. 90+.

  I opened this expecting a nicely made, but relatively four-square syrah, representative of its price. No way.
  Immediately, on the nose, there's a bacon-fat component that I love, and that I associate with the best of Central Coast syrah (and their Rhone models). Black plum and mixed berry with a little roasted herbs on the nose, and after the bacon smoke component faded in 45 minutes or so, a clear creamy aroma of creme brulee. Plum and berry compote in the mouth, nice tannic backbone, and a great medium-long finish with all the sweet, creamy, spicy fruit making a return.
  Great value (regretting I didn't buy more...).
