So here we are several years past the last posted comment. The "Coda" if you will to Garden's "Coda" to my comments back 9 years ago in 2006. This wine is still very drinkable. Is it youthful and full of life? No. Does it have a tremendous tannin structure giving it a long time to live? No. But it is good and very drinkable. No color fade that you see in wines 10+ years of age. Not a tremendous amount of sediment build up. Just a nice, easy drinking California blend. Certainly if you have any left it is time to let go and pop the cork as the time is near the end. Tasted blind against 20+ other wines including a 97 Quilceda Creek, 2001 Ch. Rieussec, 2000 Leonetti Merlot, 2002 Cristal, 2005 Williams Selyem Zinfandel, 2012 Jayson Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 Buccella Merlot and many more and everyone in the room was shocked to see the vintage be from 99. The color and taste certainly didn't indicate so.

Drank from a mag. Currant, cedar, and some slight mocha. First tasted a bit gritty and somewhat dusty, but blew off with some air. Wine has many years still left on it

This is the coda to "King of All Vines'" comments. This wine is probably approaching the end of its prime drinking window. This was a gifted wine that has had reasonably good storage conditions since it came into my possession. I vacuum sealed it after the first night. It drank well the first night but, it started to go down hill on the second evening.

very disappointing ... color good, "fruit light" on the nose, but flabby with minimal fruit on the palate. Not what I remember from the past.
