Once again a decanter is utilized to help open up the wine. Lemon meringue, lemon grass, lemon compote, along with crisp yellow apples, Asian pear, and almond. The mouthfeel is creamy reflecting the yeasty structure of the wine. 13.2% alc. With roasted Chilean Sea Bass. 05.25.23. Recommended.

Denver Wine Group Round 3 (Max's House): Immediately on opening I was concerned because the mid-palate seemed watery. After 5-10 minutes it smoothed out and was enjoyable. Nice lemony flavor. Definitey on the lighter side. A couple of people described it as a watery wine, though they noted not in a bad way. I disagree with that assessment, but it was definitely on the lighter end. Drink now, may have a year or two but no reason to risk it.

This is the third time this year I’ve pulled this wine. I know I’m drinking them too quickly and should leave them to develop more, but with one beautiful bottle and one decidedly not the same, I had to pull the cork for a data point. And this time, used a decanter to help the wine along. The wine responded well in kind delivering exactly what we enjoyed from the April bottle: “lemon meringue, crisp yellow apples, and Asian pear lifting from the glass”. A bit of lemon cream appears as the wine then begins to show some yeasty goodness on the nose and palate. As always, a deftly balanced wine. 13.2% alc. With shrimp and scallops over squid ink pasta. 08.20.22. Recommended.

This bottle is very different from what we enjoyed in April. Instead of a delightful wine with notes of “lemon meringue, crisp yellow apples, and Asian pear” we found a fairly disjointed, thin, almost insipid young wine. No real enjoyment here which, considering how we enjoyed it a mere three months ago, is more than puzzling. 13.2% alc. With roasted salmon under a mustard caper glaze. (Off bottle or maybe the wrong pairing?) 07.21.22. Recommended with Reservations.
