  • Bought this after tasting it in the store--so interesting, worth $15 to check it out a bit more carefully. What a fun wine. Jewel-like garnet color, aroma really brings the violets and lavender, sour cherries and black pepper...REALLY fragrant. The fruit recalls Chinon, as does the body and acidity...yet there is a candy sweetness on the nose, too. Just really unique and interesting and fun. Despite its youth the tannins are soft and so perhaps this is best drunk young. A slight frizzante when it hits the palate. Quite delicious, cherries and black currents, with a peppery bitterness in the (surprisingly long) finish that only augments how good it tastes. I am going to buy more.

  • clear red with orange/brown edges (Nebbiolo-like), forward nose of dried cherry, leather, earth and black pepper, medium body with light tannin and medium finish, dried cherry fruit dominated by strong flavor of freshly cracked black pepper, wine would be excellent accompaniment with a steak au poivre. unique and interesting wine. 1G (16)
