La Rioja Alta (La Rioja Alta, Haro, Rioja): 60% French oak and 40% American. 2-3 yr old barrels. Bright and cherry purple. Mid red fruit. Good acidity. Nice and bright. Easy drinking with some interest. A crowd pleaser. **1/2

Immediate and warm cassis notes on the nose. Later comes more flowery notes with violets om the forefront.
Grainy tannins on the medium-bodied palate. Good balance and elegant fruityness. A warm slightly alcoholic finish.
Has developed very nicely over the years. Still needs some air to unfold.
