  • This was given a few hours of air before consuming. Upon first sniff, this is one of the more complex Ribera Sacras I've smelled in a minute. The fruit is clean and certainly there, but with a mineral quality that is extremely alluring. The nose is polished and vibrant with crushed rocks, plums, pomegranate, licorice, red cherries, strawberries, violets, fresh herbs, earth notes, and savory spices. The Medium/full bodied feel is youthful and taught with tart, medium+ acidity and youthful, medium+ tannins. This can use a couple of years to really come around as it changed a lot over the course of 4+ hours while still showing good structure the whole time.

  • Medium purple color. Sour cherry and cinnamon on the nose. Tastes of black cherry, pomegranate, fig, soil, and a bit of baking spice. Lively acidity, light body, and elegant tannins. Not as complex as some of its sister wines but still a very nice bottle. A great foray into Mencia.

  • Quite green in the nose. Balanced in the mouth. I loved the -15 of this wine (93) and this is good too, but different. As I remember it, very different. Spicy. Chocolate again? Blind I would definitely guess there some Cab Franc in here. Black currant. Still an elegant wine. Saving half and will be back.

Day 2 and nothing much happened here either. 89.

  • Russk. Tasted during the seminar happy Spain's great match event. This is the same producer that I enjoyed at Nui kitchen. Florida wine company carries some of their labels. Grown on granite and Schist at 1300ft. Nose of wet black pepper and rose tea. Smelling a bit like Syrah. Great mouthfeel and acidity. Very juicy. Mineral. Liquid mouth. Get some.
