Fairly pale blood/ruby. Slightly muted nose of red fruit and earth. Medium bodied, but not generous. Full and sturdy. Not showing well at all today, but will probably come round. 3-

This wine caused quite a bit of debate as to its quality. At around $60 for a "village" wine one should expect great things, but some disliked the balance. It seemed rather harsh, but had a lot of concentration and dark fruit lurking behind the tannic protection. You wouldn't mistake it for the overly friendly West Coast Pinot Noirs and perhaps that was the problem. I thought it would show well in a few more years.
