  • Method: 30 min decant; Cab glass; 60ish degrees

    Look: deep- ruby

    Nose:cherry, pomegranate, ripe cranberry baking spices, light brown sugar, vanilla, alder wood note; very expressive

    Palate: cherry, ripe cranberry, plum, prune, baking spice, vanilla; long- finish prune, slightly bitter herbs; dry; full body; medium- round tannins with slightly drying finish; medium- acidity; can taste the alcohol slightly, but not really feel the heat

    Overall thoughts: The fruit profile is unexpectedly a bit all over the place for me (with ripe cranberry to prune note), but it's tasty, if simple. The wine is very expressive and concentrated with a wonderful full body and welcoming round mouthfeel. It's not complex or very serious, but it's a great hedonistic wine. I'm not sure I would purposefully continue to hold this with the expectation that it improves, but it's drinking nicely now.

  • Nose: vegetal, pomegranate, cranberry, baking spices, brown sugar, blueberry pie, cedar, sandalwood; super expressive

    Palate: cedar, baking spices, cranberry, rock dust; full body; high acid, tart; a little heat;

    Overall: it’s a bit tart and stringent and I get a little heat on it, just a little off balance for me at the moment
