Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 88 points

  • Color is very dark. Nose has black fruits and a touch of vanilla from oak. Blackberries and plums are very pronounced. then a wave of dusty tannins take over briefly while the fruit fights back. There is a touch of vanilla bourbon that comes from the American oak barrels they use. Well integrated spirit, which is rare for domestic “ports.” With the exception of the slight American oak notes, this is a very enjoyable “LBV” at a excellent price. I would buy this again. 89/100
