After a year in the cellar, this nice syrah still impresses. The heat is diminished and there's a nice spearmint coolness on the mid-palate that then turns to cinnamon on the finish. Wrigley's meets Big Red. Great value. I've paid $30+ for lesser wines.

This is an excellent Syrah. Tree bark, cocoa, cinnamon, truffle and chalk on the nose, flavors of rasperry, fresh shitake mushroom, hint of jalepeno, nice bow rosin grip and good finish. I would rate this higher except the heat holds it back a notch. but you'll not want to stop sipping it. I'm very impressed and would guess this a $35 Rhone (paid $9). Good luck finding it, I understand there were 300 cases imported to the States.
