Really nice. Delicate oak, cherry, hint of leather and licorice, bracing acidity fresh from the bottle, gradually turns into energetic acidity, perfumed oak with long chewy tannins with more air. Zingy and moreish.

This has its big boy pants on. The ripe fruit shines through if you give it enough air time at which point it reveals its silky texture. Plenty of structure and tannin. Very tasty!

Tasted at the Barolo and Barbaresco World Opening Tasting Event in NYC. This was similar to the Serralunga cru I tasted just before but a bit more depth of flavor and layered complexity like sweet cherry, anise, florals and earthy undertones. Nicely balanced with a little more structure but more of an early drinker like its sibling and most of the 2015's I tasted today..

Showing more ripeness than the 2016, but by no means overly so. The exuberant young fruit makes it very pleasurable to drink now.
