This needed 1-2 hours to open from cellar temp. Nice balance of dark fruit and some acidity/tannins for balance. Drink up now or in the next 2 years. I'm not sure if I prefer Malbec on the younger side,5-7years as opposed to 10+.

Forgot that I had a couple of bottles of this still knocking around, opened one to accompany some roast lamb. Very good; less fruity than it used to be with more cedar, vanilla (almost caramel/candy) and Chinese five-spice coming through. To be honest, I miss the big bowlful of berries I remember it used to have just a bit - it's not quite rounded/balanced now, making the high alcohol content quite noticeable - but it's still quite enjoyable to drink and holding up well enough. Best with food.

Cedar, vanilla, and sweet cherry on the nose. Raspberry, chocolate, tart cherry, and spice. Good acidity for malbec with a long finish. Great wine, fair price.

Nearly opaque purple, with a chocolatey nose and an explosive, structured palate of blackberry pie (and maybe some tart raspberry, too). It's exuberantly fruity, but the acidity keeps everything in balance. I didn't realize that it stands at 14.5% alcohol, because I didn't detect any heat. The overall quality really caught me by surprise, because I'm used to the $10 and $15 Malbecs. Though this one's a bit steep in comparison to those, it's worth the extra cash (and it's reasonably priced in comparison to, say, the increasingly extortionate California Cabs of the same quality).
