  Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: First 2022 Tasting: Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah.
  Popped and poured, drunk over four days. Clear, medium-deep tawny color. Clean, medium+ intense, fully developed warm and ripe nose. Lots of ripe, sweet and cooked fruit, spicy (cinnamon), some herbs, hints of tobacco.
  Dry, medium+/high acidity, still well integrated. High alcohol, a bit hot, 14% abv. Medium+, silky tannin.
  On the palate a lot of red, sweet fruit, herbaceous, liquorice, cinnamon. Dense and deep, power, bold, good balance. On day two more precise as on day one. If you don’t drink it too warm, it shows also some elegance and finesse. Long, lingering finish, very spicy and red fruited. Very interesting wine, but blind I would have never guessed this grape variety nor the region… 91 Drink now.

  Online Blind Tasting #7: 1997 Horizontal: Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, ~4cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three.
  Glass: Zalto Burgundy
  Clear, medium-deep tawny color. Clean, medium+ intense, fully developed warm and ripe nose. Lots of ripe, sweet and cooked fruit, spicy (cinnamon), some herbs, hints of tobacco.
  Dry, medium+/high acidity, still well integrated. High alcohol, a bit hot, 14% abv. Medium+, silky tannin.
  On the palate a lot of red, sweet fruit, herbaceous, liquorice, cinnamon. Dense and deep, power, bold, good balance. On day two more precise as on day one. Very interesting wine, but blind I would have never guessed this grape variety nor the region… 90-91 for being very special. Drink now.
