  • Second bottle here and I’m pretty sure my first bottle was flawed (unlikely to be TCA as it’s under diam but that first one was so closed and reticent). This bottle, WOW. Nose is so big it’s a completely different wine. There’s a beautiful butterscotch and honey on the nose that keeps me coming back to the glass. Acid is medium, and I would honestly prefer a touch more, but that’s perhaps my only criticism. This wines is glorious. So much complexity, so many layers. Creamy and rich (full malo it would seem) without being CA over the top rich. There’s energy and verve here too. Its doing so many things right. Showing terroir so well.

Update: with food, the acid shows itself more. It’s perfect. I take back my small critique. This wine is just outstanding.

  • Needed a good hour or two of air to show well. Those first few sips had me worried, but then it really transformed into a nice balance of acid and fruit with just enough lees and wood to provide structure and complexity but without overwhelming the wine.

  • So bright and full of energy. Honeycrisp apple with a bit of a yeasty note. Tart finish balanced by a hint of honey. It reminds me of a champagne (sans bubbles). The wine has so much life in it, hardly showing any age at all while still drinking perfectly now.

  • This is lovely Chardonnay; great value and should age very nicely. The nose is fresh with lovely citrus notes and hints of green apple and pear. The palate is fresh and vibrant with lovely floral and citrus notes followed by some orchard fruits and a long slightly saline finish. Will buy more of this.
