TWS North London - Pinot Noir ex-France (Must & Lees, Warren Street): No messing around on the nose: intensely floral and assertively fruited with beautiful oak spice. It ain't subtle it's very appealing: dense and saturated on the palate. This isn't going to substitute for a Burgundy any time soon but it does its own thing with a swagger.

Non-french Pinot Noir (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Dark, dense red. The nose is sweet, like candyfloss, very aromatic. The wine is on the meaty spectrum - deep and structured, rather a surprise. Not entirely without delicacy but not ethereal either by a long shot. It's good, and I can appreciate the quality, but I find it a little heavy vs my expectations. Or, as the last wine of the evening, I was just a little tired? I'd like to revisit this.

Young and will benefit from (needs) a short-medium decant. At first, robust and reminiscent of central otago pinot noir. Some elegance emerges with time. With air, expressive, perfumed and well structured. Excellent.

(Non-France) Pinot Noirs of North London (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Not hugely complex, but so tasty. Red fruit, musk and game in excellent balance, elegant and drinkable, with a touch of spice on the finish. Mmm!
