  • 100% Malbec. Planted at 1,600 meter high elevation in the Andes in 2011, so young vines. Volcanic soils. Stainless steel fermented with 18 months in French oak. Don’t think much if any was new oak. There’s nice acidity and minerality to this wine but along with typical Malbec notes of dark purple fruit and violet notes. There’s a bit of chocolate and minor oak notes, but it’s well integrated. Behaves much younger than it is. Over time, the fruit and floral notes really start to open up but still more restraint and acidity than an average Argentinian Malbec for example. Still think it will develop some more. Although production has increased since this vintage, only like 200-400 cases were being made around this time. 92+
