Still has that beer quality to it. More exactly, like many Belgian beers. We loved it again. If you don‘t know whether you want wine or beer, this is your drink.

Crazy stuff here. Blind I might guess beer. I think this is usually a bad sign, but the wine tastes great. Nice strawberry which makes the wine totally quaffable despite its crazier aspects.

2018 Gut Oggau Winifred was earthy, vibrant and nuanced. The Austrian natural rosé was hazy and pale pink in colour. Expressive aromas of farmyard, fresh red cherries, strawberries and wet stones jumped out of the glass. The mouthfeel was dry and medium-light-bodied, accompanied with low level of silky tannin and medium-high level of fresh acidity. Consistent flavours of earth, raspberry, cranberry and a hint of grapefruit persisted in a rather long vibrant finish. From the information on the back label, the alcohol level was at 12.0%. The wine was certified organic and biodynamic.
A quick online search suggests that the blend was composed of Blaufrankish and Zweigelt. The grapes were completely destemmed, and briefly macerated for one day. The must was fermented on native yeast, followed by ageing in large neutral oak barrels for eight months. The wine was bottled unfiltered and unfined, without any addition of sulphite.

Slightly cloudy dark cranberry color, striking. Nose slightly sour red cherries, a slightly wild floral note, like what I’d imagine an Austrian berry patch in a forest would smell like. Palate fresh, clean tasting in a good way, a mineral note and red berries, delightful.
Overall showing clean and energetic, this bottle reminded me of how delicious natural wines can be when without flaws
