702/1148. Soaring blue fruit, cherries, lychee, spice, rose petal and light grilled meat. Perhaps very fitting to the theme given its aromatics. Substantial on the palate with enough structure to carry forward. Even larger on day two with a very long and precise finish. 93-94+

Late night at home. Drank in Gabriel Standart and Conterno Sensory. Much better expression and more minerally in the latter. Got through the wax but cork was super-tight and I actually had to Durand it out. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fragrant dirt earth, lovely stony minerality, stems, red cherries, strawberries. Developing. On the palate, dry, very good high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), gentle medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lovely stony minerality, dirt earth, stems with a hint of green, lively red cherries, cranberries, strawberries. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Highly enjoyable and drinkable. Even more so on day 2. Silky smooth on palate. In a good place already, and also can age.

Off-Track Leroy BYO (Manhatta): Pure red fruit, lifted, blue spice, game, perfect with duck, if light. 92+
