Inky black cherry color. Nose of alcohol, bell pepper, roasty oak and dark fruit. Despite an amazing level of extraction, alcohol crushes the life out of the palate. Drinkable, but the green element and heat aren't much fun. The rich, lingering finish is the best part of the experience. From half bottle. 14.8% abv.

Decanted for 1-1/2 hours and paired with grilled fillet. Brawny black fruit, toasty oak, some cherry and licorice. Fine tannic grip and good structure but only a modest herbal finish. decent enough Napa Cab but would have to drop price in half to deliver QPR.

This needs an hour decant if any and it didn't get it. So, it got better and better but never came into its own...still brambly, rough and disjointed but better than the first bottle. Will it ever be a well put together bottle of Caberent? I don't think so.

Ripe, black fruit, dark to the rim, smooth. One of the best Carter wines I have had.
