  • Quite plush. Easy to drink and enjoy, and the depth of the texture gets deeper and deeper with air. Texture and palate progression at the very least reminds me of some of the better white burgs I had, although it seemingly lacks the complexity, but perhaps because it shows off the texture so beautifully.

  • Medium bright yellow/gold with a clearing rim. A medium-plus intense, tropical nose shows notes of honey dew melon and woody caramel. The wine has a promising 13% alcohol, but is concentrated enough to weigh is at medium-plus. Acidity is no more than medium, but still manages to keep the wine fresh on the mid-palate despite being quite broadly flavoured. It does not lack for depth of fruit either, with a melange of vanilla-laced mango and kumquat, but the texture is slightly diminished by a woody phenolic edge. By itself this would be a serviceable wine for those not shy of a little oak, but in this company it comes up short. The finish too, is somewhat dominated by oak flavours but still does a respectable 15-20 seconds. This is not my cuppa tea, but I feel 85 points are justified. Don’t keep it much longer if you happen to have any....... TN Mike de Lange

  • I must have gotten a bad bottle because it was just terrible. All I could taste was alcohol. No fruit, butter, minerals, or anything. Hopefully my other bottles are better.
