Drank over 2 days. No change between days 1 and 2. Intense green apple, lemon and lime. Objectively excellent and great with umami flavoured food. My personal preference is for the weightier / richer offerings from Alheit such as Cartology (which is also helpful to my bank balance) or the single vineyard Huilkrans.

Straw yellow. Hints of reduction and smelled a bit tired. Intense secondary aromas and backing fresh citrus fruit. Saline and flinty. Complex. A “toasty” Chenin, a style I’m not particularly in love with. Bit tight will improve with age. Same producer of Cartology.
WINEMAKING: These little parcels are planted in the Citrusdal Mountain viticultural district (aka Skurfberg) on a high mountainous ridge at 520 meters above sea-level on very red iron rich sandy soil. It’s an ungrafted dryland bushvine Chenin vineyard planted high up.

Did not make a note, but this was very good. Had a pronounce camomille note that really stood out.
