Slight brownish tint, inky and “Camembert” on the nose. The palate is smooth with bold, intense fruit, with herbal notes. This vintage is particularly delicious. Because of the 2016 Soberanes Fire, none of the fruit comes from Carmel Valley and this wine got the benefit of new oak barrels intended for one of the reserve wines that could not be made for that vintage. Recommending snapping up some – great wine at a value price.
