Decanted for 1 hr. A bit austere, with nose and palate somewhat closed. I felt like I had to work to get the flavors, and wasn’t as fun as I normally find Ridge zins. Maybe would benefit from more age but not particularly my cup of tea.

Classic zinfandel nose of blackberry pie and some spice - plus a fair dose of oak. The palate is medium- full bodied, rich and ripe in texture. Smooth on entry, there is just a bit of a bitter bite on the finish. Stylistically, it's pretty on point. Although there are some tannins that show at the tail end, they are well balanced by the fruit. This is a nice wine and probably have a couple more years of development potential, but it shows the obvious oak treatment that I have come to dislike with some Ridge wines.

Had not heard of this.
Very good, full bodied, nice complex fruit. Pleasant surprise.

Fruit forward with red fruit, but not as much so as some of the paso zins. A little too sweet for my palate but nonetheless ok. Pleasant finish
