  • 271 cases: Opened about 2 hours before pouring the first glasses, enjoyed over next 4 hours.  In the glass stunning garnet coloring that shows the elegance to come.  On the nose  there is a richness of aromas, plum, dark ripe cherry and black raspberry lead the fruit influences. Past these primary flavors there was a lovely enticing menthol element, floral notes, and some peppercorn. Upon the first sips this one only gets better, a complete overload of flavors that is completely mouthcoating. Lead by the fruit flavors introduced on the nose includes further hints of espresso, vanilla and dark chocolate. Despite the expected richness the wine Is really a lovely weighting, not overpowering or one that will exhaust the palate. Beyond the weighting the texture is showing elegance of the layered flavors nicely balanced.  Tannins are baby soft and smooth at the beginning of the finish.  Strong acidity and some minerality characteristics really finish this one off strong.

Radian vineyard located in the SW corner of Sta. Rita Hills that is quite cold for the AVA. A combination of harsh soils combined with persistent coastal winds result in small clusters and tiny berries, that provide the ingredients for concentrated wines. Pinot Noir clones used in this wine include 115 (53%) and 667 (47%).
