  • Dark gold color, at nose apricot, peach, but at palate, very insipid wine, some air didn’t help at all

  • I agree with Ziavino - I tend to love Z-H and like a good gwertz - but this just seems off. The flavor was more akin to drinking grandma's perfume - all rose petal with an unpleasant bitterness. Some gwertz spiciness came on after it was open a bit but never really changed over 3 days. Unfortunately this one just didn't work for me, I'll stick to other Z-H offerings.

  • Zind is one of my favorite producers anywhere, but this is the first ever bottle from them that just seems off to me. PnP, with pineapple and other tropical fruit notes jumping out of the glass. But there's also an odd metallic note there too, and a crabapple aroma that eventually takes over. The palate is bizarre - zero acidity, yet a pithy bitterness that is preceded by notes of decaying pineapple, mango, and stonefruit. A pronounced floral component is there as well, and builds as it warms. Almost undrinkable to me, and even after going the decanter route for 3+ hours it was unchanged. Oddly reminds me of a time that I tried a "no hops" experimental beer, which was also undrinkable. I'm not scoring this based out of respect for the producer, but buyer beware - this might not be what you're hoping for.

  • Clear deep gold; clean pronounced nose of apricots, orange marmalade, honey and roses; dry; medium acidity; phenolic bitterness; medium plus alcohol; full body; pronounced flavour intensity; pfn with drying pith; medium plus finish; well made but not my cup of tea - musky floral, waxy mouthfeel, dull on palate

  • Very floral, lovely lychee on nose, it reminds me of Hoegaarden...
Dry on palate, it's like drinking flower water, aromatic, a hint of ginger flower, white pepper spice, but there isn't a lot of acidity, light bodied. Not my cup of tea.
